Overview
The service is for people who need assistance to undertake shopping tasks in the community. It is provided for up to two hours and a volunteer is matched who has an understanding of the support needs and is sensitive to the cultural needs of the consumer to assist them with this task.
Escorted shopping is usually undertaken and booked with the same volunteer at regular intervals either weekly or fortnightly, as the consumer desires.
Escorted medical appointments support the consumer in whatever way they desire to assist in a positive outcome from a medical appointment thus providing better health outcomes for our consumers and ensuring that they can continue to live independently. Medical appointments cover the following: doctor/specialist, pharmacist/chemist, podiatrist, pathology, radiography, physiotherapy, chiropractor.
Escorted socialisation allows for a consumer to reconnect or continue with socialisation activities that they have previously been involved in or would like to pursue. It allows for consumers to be connected to the fabric of community life.
Area Serviced
Services are within a 55km radius of Mildura within the irrigation district and part of MRCC and the Millewa. ww.advabn
