The Pyrenees Shire Council provides support services to the Beaufort, Avoca, Lexton, Snake Valley, Amphitheatre and other communities within the Shire, in the following areas:

• Residents who are frail, aged, chronically ill or have disabilities.
  Support is also provided to their carers. Programs include Home Care, Personal Care, Respite Care, Meals on Wheels, Transport and Social Support.
• Services to support families and their children including Maternal & Child Health, Child Care, Immunisation Services, Head Lice Services, and Youth Services.
• Maintains and monitors health in the municipality, as well as ensuring that laws in respect to Food, Animals, Buildings, Noise, Vermin, Traffic and Pollution are adhered to.
