Eligibility
This service is the single point of entry to Psychiatric Services in the Loddon Campaspe Southern Mallee Region. Public clinical mental health services are aimed primarily at people with more severe forms of mental illness or disorder (psychotic and non-psychotic), whose level of disturbance or impairment prevents other services from adequately treating or managing them.

Referrals can come from any source. Referrals need to have the following details available if possible: client details, aware of referral, reason for the referral, presenting features or presenting problem, significant recent and past history, alerts/risks/safety factors, current medication, current support systems.

Description
The Psychiatric Triage Service is a 24 hour telephone psychiatric crisis and referral service accessible via 1300 363 788 (local call cost from anywhere in Victoria).

The Psychiatric Triage Service acts as a single point of entry for all referrals into the Loddon Campaspe Southern Mallee Area Mental Health Services and provides you with immediate telephone access to an experienced, highly skilled mental health clinician.

In an urgent situation, which places any one in danger, it is important that you contact emergency services FIRST - 000 .
